” Hi All, My name is Byron Dubow. I am a music and hi-fi aficionado in Oklahoma City, OK, USA. I have received shipment of the OneClassic a few weeks ago, which I purchased with my own funds and would like to take a moment to share my thoughts about the speakers and this company. I do not have any conflicts of interest or any financial motives behind my review here, and I leave this review as an early, enthusiastic supporter who has been frankly amazed by these speakers and this technology. First of all, I can happily report that Kenneth at Sinotech Communication, the company behind OneClassic, has been a class act from my very first communication. He has diligently answered every one of my emails and responded to my praise and concerns in a timely manner. I received the speakers in two boxes sent via FedEx international express in a surprisingly short time. The boxes arrived without damage and inside it was clear that a great deal of effort had gone into designing custom box inserts to stabilize and secure the speakers during their long journey to my front door. The acrylic speakers were wrapped in industrial grade Saran/plastic wrap to protect them, however despite these precautions, my speakers did arrive with some superficial scratches which Kenneth quickly responded with directions for buffing/polishing. The power converters were securely stowed in little boxes and the DECT USB stick was also secured. All of my adapters were correct for my country and power supply. Also included in the package was an instruction manual and microfiber cleaning cloth which works very well to lift finger prints from the clear acrylic. My setup, thus far, has been a near field setup. I have a massive, solid walnut top on a standing desk and placed the two speakers on the far L and R back corners of the desk, slightly toed in to create an ideal sound stage. Installation could not have been any easier and after installing the USB stick into the back of my Mac Mini, I simply changed the audio output from my computer to the DECT/OneClassic and turned off system sounds so as not to interfere with the music. From this point, it is quite easy to feed the speakers with audio from any computer source. I variously went through my iTunes collection, Pandora and Spotify streaming, and my more audiophile setup which consists of a Logitech media server housed on my Synology NAS. So, after setup… how did they sound? The million dollar question. In short, they are FANTASTIC! In a near field setup they delivered brilliant highs, crisp clear mids, and spacious low end kick. These speakers will be replacing a pair of Peachtree Audio/Era D4’s, and the upgrade is impressive to say the least. While I don’t have anywhere close to the $200k setup that Kenneth demos, I can say that these speakers perform better than anything else I own, including a $15k setup. The only area that they suffer is in bass, and this is predictable based on their cabinet size. They’re book shelf speakers, after all, not full/extended range towers. One of my favorite demo albums is Miles Davis, Sketches of Spain. On all of my previous speaker setups, I’ve never been able to hear the crispness of the castanets in the lush background. It was only when I bought a pair of ACS custom in-ear-monitors that I realized that this element was even missing. I’m happy to report that the OneClassic portrays them brilliantly, a revelation for a pair of bookshelf speakers. Looks: These speakers are drop dead gorgeous. In my near field arrangement, even seated on either side of a 30” computer monitor, the proportions of the speakers are a bit large. However, with the clear acrylic—in my humble opinion—you can pull it off. Despite the biggish cabinets, the speakers just disappear into the surroundings, and thereby solve one of the largest problems that many male audiophiles run into: approval from the decorator and their better half. I’ve now had the chance to break these speakers in for well over 150 hours and run them through a variety of genres of music. I’ve also had a chance to try out the various sound profiles and find myself gravitating to the natural and clarity profiles (interesting because typically I enjoy a warm tube amp). If you’re questioning whether it’s wise to spend a significant amount of money on a speaker being pre-sold through kickstarter, I can happily report from my own experience that this technology is ready for prime time, and Sinotech Communications is legit. I am highly satisfied with my speakers and my experience in dealing with Kenneth and his team could not be more positive. I’d urge you to make the leap to these fantastic wireless speakers and support a super cool company. Based on my own experience thus far, I’ll happily support these guys in any of their future projects and cannot wait to see what else they’ve got up their sleeves. While audiophile grade stereo is here today, this company could prove to be a game changer, particularly with surround sound (5.1/7.1). Speaker cords are a huge setup hassle… and there just may be a legit alternative. Many, many thanks to Kenneth and his team, and congratulations for all of the effort that has gone into the OneClassic! “
