WiFi and Bluetooth are off-the-shelf wireless technology. They are working on 2.4/5GHz ISM band which is open for all radio devices. Due to more and more devices use WiFi band, they have serious interference. It is not an appropriate technology for audio streaming. 

With our 20+ year wireless experience, we reform DECT protocol for HiFi audio application, adding audio mandatory elements, completely resolve wireless audio problem. We have put key HiFi audio criteria into DECT audio protocol :

  • High accurate timing information, resynchronized every 0.01S
  • Low master clock jitter by linear PID control
  • Reduce switching noise by minimize radio transceiver on/off and slow rising ramp
  • Static data rate, use packet loss concealment to recover error data instead of error data resend
  • Lower internal EMI noise, reduce radio transmit power to a quarter
  • Regulated processor task flow, running at low speed, share loading by 3 processors architecture : DECT processor for wireless link, 2xDSP for signal processing, CPU for operation

High accuracy timing characteristic

DECT brings perfect soundstage because of its highly accurate timing characteristic. Unlike Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or WiSA, DECT has a time resolution down to 0.1uS. ONEaudio can keep speaker synchronization as low as 0.5uS steadily even in worst condition, which is hundred time better than Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Dedicated channel, no bandwidth sharing, the most stable data rate

Unlike from Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, DECT has dedicated channels with no sharing of data bandwidth. This ensures sound stability and quality. DECT does not suffer from cloudy channel signals and data sharing congestion which often happen in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.

DECT dedicated simultaneous multi-channel broadcasting protocol, each speaker can have its own dedicated channel to replicate a wired system. Delivering to each speaker the sound intended reducing lag and improving sound quality!

Ultra-low latency transmission
DECT protocol is design for instant voice communication. Short time delay between transmitter and receiver bring no visible lip sync in movie play. ONEaudio surround set can achieve same level as of wired AV system.

Secondary re-transmission degraded the sound quality

Bluetooth is merged L+R transmission

Bluetooth stereo speakers run on master and slave configuration. 

Master speaker is primary channel receive compressed L+R audio. Master speaker decompress L+R audio, retrieve R audio, compress R audio and re-transmit to slave speaker.

Slave speaker R audio has serious distortion and time error. You can only listen L channel and R channel sound on master speaker and slave speaker, but you never experience sound stage and sound imaging.
